WoW! My freshman yr at college is practically over. I have learned alot since I graduated from high school. Hmmm..a year ago at this time my hair was blue. Ok ok..what did i learn? I learned that if u get lazy and dont feel like cooking or going out for food, u dont eat. It seems so sterotypical but damn quarters really do mean alot in the world of laundry at college. On more than one occasion i end up soliciting multiple businesses for their quarter stash (JimmyJohns never has/gives quarters so dont bother). I learned alot about love this year, maybe more the loss of, but love nonetheless. Since I was with Erika almost all of HS and went out with Brittany soon after Erika and I, I have now learned what its really like to be single. Hmmm not my idea of a good time but im sure its a growing experience. I learned that while hs girls have good intentions(and i honestly believe that) they really dont know what they want and since they have plenty of time to grow up its not really fair of me to hold them to their once-confessions of love. Yes, thank you Jason. I learned how much it sucks that some clubs let girls 18+ in but guys hafta be 21. I learned what good beer tastes like, how rumple-mint shots taste, and how hang-overs suck. I also learned how to "pull it together" when it is truly needed. I learned that the UF bike club is Really fast and i lose motivation. I learned how just because someone holds the status of College Professor doesnt mean they really know any more than a bad hs teacher. I learned how crucial having a good TA is. I learned (well mostly watched) how to build a loft, and how to ignore RA's rules. I learned what shorting a stock means and how important it is to call your stock-broker uncle for tips. I learned how to make dishes and silverware disappear from the dining hall and reappear in my dorm. I learned how great it is to get a sub @ the reitz on sunday nites, and how I cant eat 19 meals a week at the dining hall. I forgot how to go to bed at a decent hour and how to wash my sheets. I learned what printmaking really is, and how to spend more money than u have. I learned what badoonkadonk means and how some(only some) rap is 'aight'. I learned how to rollerblade backwards and make a back-hand frisbee throw. I learned how nice it is to know what i wanna do with my living and how scary it is if i dont get in finance. I learned how nice hearing 'you have a package downstairs' sounds and how great the person that gives u the package really is. I learned how to sleep past 5pm. I learned how to stay up for over 24 hours and then go to a party. I learned how cops dont do anything about underage drinking at parties, and that you shouldn't fill up flasks with other peoples liquor (thanx julian). I learned how friendships fluctuate like the stock market but as long as its a good one and you dont sell off you'll be okay in the end. I learned how to make a webpage, not pay for software,and tweak my computer to fit me (and confuse the hell outta everyone else). I learned what its like to lose...my grandfather (mom) and my grandmother (stepdad)...I learned that if i really care i wouldve accepted friendship over nothing(BIG mistake). I learned that true love and compassion for a person (ex: erika) can easily take form in true friendship. I learned how to sneak into the football stadium at 3am. I learned how to ollie and how important it is to not jump over more than 6 crates. I learned that if a leopard print shirt is on sale for 5(down from 30) that doesnt make it a good deal. I learned how to intelligently shop online, handle credit cards,and how to drop a class. I also learned that I really want a Mini Cooper,how to snowboard in colorado,and how to spend over 20 hours in an airport. I learned that a ripped dollar isnt worth half as much and that Jones soda bottle caps' fortunes really come true.
